The  Schaabe – longest sandbay on Ruegen

The Schaabe is a 12 kilometer long bay with fine, white sand. This beach connects the sea resorts “Glowe” and “Juliusruh and is the most beautyful beach on the island ruegen. It ist sourrounded by pine forests and a great landscape.

During the sommer it is an wonderfull place for people, who likes swimming and sunbathing. Many people visit Glowe only for bathing and swimming at the beach  “Schaabe”

Behind the white beach guards a up to 7 m high costal dune the back country for storms and high tide.  A complex cultivation of beach grass

achieves a stabilization of the dune landscape.
